How do I quote a renovation without losing a weekend to it?

Save your phases as priced items: strip-out, first fix, plaster, finish. Build the quote phase by phase at the walkaround and the estimate that used to take a weekend of spreadsheets goes out the same evening.

Can I take a staged deposit on a big job?

Yes. Set the percentage that suits the job and the customer pays it by card on acceptance, so materials and the first week's labour are covered before you open the van doors on day one.

Can the customer see what each phase costs?

Yes. Each phase is its own line, so the customer sees where the money goes instead of arguing with one big number. Itemised quotes get accepted faster and disputed less.

Can I invoice in stages as the job runs?
