How do I quote tiling by area on-site?

Save your rates by area as items, per square metre or per square foot, with walls and floors separate if you price them differently. Measure up, tap the areas in, and the maths is done and the quote sent while you're still parked outside.

Can I price prep separately from tiling?

Yes, and you should. Save levelling, waterproofing and boarding as their own items so the customer sees why the job costs what it costs, and you're not eating the prep when the floor turns out worse than it looked.

Can I take a deposit before ordering tiles and adhesive?

Yes. The customer pays a deposit by card the moment they accept, so the porcelain is paid for before it's on the van. No more funding someone else's bathroom.

Do photos of past bathrooms help win tiling work?
