Quoting, pricing and getting paid all come down to numbers, and getting them slightly wrong quietly adds up over a year. These free calculators do the sums for you, so a quote covers its costs, an invoice looks right, and you know exactly what will land in your bank.

Each of these carries a currency switcher, so the figures come out in pounds, dollars, euros or whatever you quote in. They fit together the way a job does. Pricing starts with your own rate, so the day rate calculator works out what to charge for your time, and the markup and margin calculator makes sure the profit you add is the profit you keep, because a markup and a margin are never the same number. Once the job is priced, the quote generator turns it into something you can send from your phone and the invoice generator collects on it.

Tax and mileage, by country

Tax is the one thing that never travels. A calculator built on the wrong country's rules is worse than no calculator, so these are split and labelled. In the UK the VAT calculator adds or removes VAT at 20%, 5% or 0%, the CIS deduction calculator shows what a contractor will hold back before you're paid, and the mileage claim calculator uses the HMRC approved rates.
